Dr. Fulkerson, a prominent physician, built this mansion for his family in 1910. Sitting on a mindfully landscaped, sprawling lot, the house is close both to downtown as well as most St. Joseph attractions. With its large kitchen, generous dining and living rooms, office, two sunrooms and four bedrooms, there is plenty of space to sprawl out and accommodate a larger group.

3-Night Stays: Available with a modest fee. While the total cost is lower than a 4-night booking, the nightly rate is slightly higher.
2-Night Stays: This option has a higher fee, resulting in our highest nightly rate, though the overall cost remains below a 3-night stay.
1-Night Stays: Priced the same as a 2-night booking. This is perfect for last-minute or single-night getaways when availability allows.

August-01 2023Wow! THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL! The pool area is the BOMB! We spent 80% of our waking time out here and enjoyed every minute. Between the Hot Tub, great seating areas, Direct TV with ALL the channels at pool side, outside kitchen under cover, views of the pond & spectacular sunsets, it was the BEST! Something we weren't expecting was swimming pool had a tanning ledge. We had 2 toddlers that really enjoyed this area of the pool. The furnishings were top notice. The Kitchen, on the 2nd floor, has everything you could want in a fully equipped kitchen. I hate staying in those houses that say they can sleep 20+ people but only have 8 forks, one skillet, etc. This place is equipped to feed a small army – From cooking items, to utensils, plates, and more! There are multiple places to gather in the house, we found when we weren't hanging out by the pool, we were mostly in the Game room, enjoyed the Pool Table. We will be back next year!!

November-10 2023This place is AMAZING! Furnishings are top notice. We slept like babies - Mattresses were so comfortable! The bedrooms had room darkening curtains; I can’t understate how rare this is in a vacation rental.... The bedrooms were perfect for sleeping in late. I hate to admit it but a couple of us had some late nights in the Game Room playing pool. Which was great! It’s in the house, climate controlled, but in its own room, with a closing door, away from the bedrooms. We closed the doors and no matter how loud we got, didn’t bother anyone sleeping. We knew when we booked that the house was 2 stories and would be a challenge for one of the guys (bad knees). Turns out he had no reason to even climb the stairs. We entered at ground level, under the carport and with all the 1st floor had to offer, there was no reason to go upstairs. Bedrooms on 1st floor, with a couple of bathrooms, including a walk-in shower, laundry room, den, game room, refrigerator, and more, all on this floor ~ the only thing missing was the full kitchen. Our group was so large, ½ of us ate downstairs and it was no problem bringing his food down to him. Patricia mentioned they are adding a kitchenette on this lower level, so anyone mobility challenged won't have a reason to head upstairs. The outside entertainment area was perfect! The kids loved feeding the ducks over the fence. We were really glad there was a fence separating the kids from the pond! Great feature! The pond views were a great plus. The upstairs Kitchen had everything you could want & the outside cooking / entertainment area offered tons as well including a full size refrigerator. We can’t wait to return in the summer to really enjoy the swimming pool. I highly recommend this holiday home! There are so many areas to spread out; it is perfect for everyone! We'll be back!! November-04 2023This place is beautiful! Pictures don’t do it justice. We were able to have a large group here for Thanksgiving and we never felt crowded. The kitchen is huge plenty of seating in multiple areas. The outdoor kitchen pool / hot tub area was beautiful, but unfortunately it rained, so we didn't use it. We will definitely come back again! Great host! Very responsive!

Everything you could want in a fully equipped kitchen not only a fully equipped Kitchen on the main floor but there is also a kitchenette on the lower level. If you've got someone in your group who can't climb stairs this house could work for your mobility challenged friend. The only thing they may want to do upstairs that they can't downstairs is have access to the upstairs kitchen. There are 2 huge living areas on the lower floor, so as long as someone is willing to bring food down, there is no reason for a mobility challenged person to go upstairs. I highly recommend this holiday home! There are so many areas to spread out it perfect for everyone! We’ll be back!! Thank you Patricia for providing us this amazing stay!!

July-12 2021Liked: Cleanliness Nice even withstorm water invasion We absolutely loved The River House! During our stay storms hit and some flooding accorded. For a day we were on an “island!” The property is super high, like up on a hill… so while water was on the street and back yard, our cars were high and dry on the hill and we were able to enjoy the pool, hot tub, and more… Made some great memories! Our Host made sure we wanted for nothing!

June-06 2022Liked: Cleanliness Will book again! We booked the house for our annual youth trip. We have a small youth group and generally pick an area to explore and do a Bible study with it. The layout of the house was fantastic and fit our needs perfectly. The bunk beds held all the boys on the trip, the living room was spacious enough for our bible study, the long dining table was perfect for family style dinners and for munching on a mess of crawfish! The kids enjoyed the river access, pool, Foosball table, and pool table. Check in and check out is the smoothest I've ever experienced. Patricia is a host that really has it all together. Will definitely be booking future trips here.

The owner was always available and answered all my questions even during our stay. The property was very clean and had plenty of room for a party of 10 people. We really enjoyed the pool, the hot tub, and access to the river for fishing and boating. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a trip to Gulfport. You will not be disappointed!

Property was clean, in a quiet neighborhood, stocked with a lot of necessities and amenities. Owner was very friendly and easy to communicate with prior to trip and during stay. She always responded quickly. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The property was spacious with room for all family members and everyone had a really great time. Easy to find and close to beach and outlets but secluded enough for a relaxing time. And really great price!

Very, very spacious living quarters and tons of outdoor space. The pool was perfect on a hot summer day and even taking swims in the Biloxi River was nice. Loved the amenities of this house but did not get to really enjoy due to outside obligations! Wish we had a few more days! The only suggestion would be to maybe make handicap accessible. I would have loved to be able to invite my wheelchair bound Aunt! We were a little intimidating by the Rental Agreement, but after meeting our host, Patricia, we realize we were going to have a great stay! She was very helpful & always a phone call away!
